Properly maintaining your Christmas tree

A beautiful natural tree immediately brings a warm atmosphere to the home. To keep it fresh for a long time, a few simple actions make all the difference. Between water, location, ambient heat, and lighting, here are our tips to enjoy your tree for as long as possible.

Hydration: the secret to a tree that stays beautiful

A tree needs water, even once it is set up indoors. The soil should remain slightly moist at all times. Depending on the room temperature and humidity level, it is recommended to add about one to two glasses of water per day.

For those who want to simplify watering, we also offer ceramic watering spikes. Easy to attach to a water bottle, they allow for gradual hydration of the soil over several days. A practical solution to maintain good consistency without thinking about it every day.

Choosing the right location

The location of the tree plays an essential role in its longevity. Ideally, it should be placed away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, fireplaces, or any other heating devices.

If you have underfloor heating, it is better to place the tree on a stand to limit exposure to heat. The warmer the environment, the more likely the tree is to dry out quickly.

Dry air can accelerate drying out

In a very heated or low-humidity house, the ambient air can become dry. This has a direct impact on the freshness of the tree. In this case, it is advisable to water a little more frequently to compensate for this loss of moisture.

A good balance between heat and watering allows the fir tree to maintain its beautiful natural appearance for longer.

Favor LED lights

String lights are part of the magic of Christmas, but not all are suitable for your tree. LED lights are preferred, as they produce much less heat than traditional bulbs.

Less heat around the tree also means less drying out, resulting in a tree that stays fresh longer.

Some insects may sometimes be present

Our trees have grown in their natural environment, and it can happen that they carry a bit of the wildlife around them. It is sometimes possible to see small dormant insects in the soil, which wake up once the tree is set up warm in your living room.

Rest assured: no harmful organisms can be found in the soil or in the tree. If you have any doubts, our team is of course available to advise you.
